“No water, no life. No blue, no green.”
— Sylvia Earle
Clean water is something most of us only notice when it’s missing—when taps run low, when seawater must be turned into drinking water, or when tiny “invisible” pollutants raise health concerns. At S3EA Lab, we work on practical technologies that help communities secure safe, affordable, and energy-smart water, from the source all the way to the glass.
We are the S3EA Lab led by Dr. PAN Weiyi in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, National University of Singapore. We advance water sustainability through novel separation and purification technologies, connecting process engineering, materials innovation, and smart monitoring. Our key research areas include:
Energy-Efficient and Sustainable Desalination
Precise Removal of Emerging Contaminants
Drinking Water Safety
Our goal is to translate scientific insights into solutions that can be tested, scaled, and adopted—supporting the water–health–energy nexus in the real world.
